With a priority of Sustainability, students at ORPS develop the knowledge, skills, values and world views necessary to contribute to more sustainable patterns of living. We are committed to educating our students and wider school community about sustainability and fostering life-long habits that will sustain our environment for future generations.
Programs implemented to support Sustainability at ORPS include composting, worm towers, vegie gardens, containers for change and aquaponics. Student food waste is distributed through the schools’ worm farms to fertilise our fruit trees.
The school has a Community Recycling Centre. This student led initiative is managed by a student team of Waste Warriors. The Three Rs – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle – are explicitly taught across the school.
